You could spend hours talking about how e-Readers are comfortable, easy to use and, why not, even beautiful. But are we sure that these are just the right adjectives to be attributed to a book? E-Reader: what will it hold in the future?
Here are some characteristics of the e-Reader that will probably be considered vintage in the coming years:
Black and white: in a digital color world, to the continuous pursuit of the "real" image, black and white could leave space for colored illustrations, as they would be if they were printed.
No to the thickness: although the e-Reader is practical and subtle, the most ambitious ones often imagine it as a card and with a very high resolution.
Stop the battery limits: remember the advertising of Duracell batteries? Well, the digital support battery will last a lot, but a lot more ... endlessly. This could be possible, if it were powered by the sun (and also by electricity, if the weather were to play bad jokes!).
Go to the library? No more: no more files in the library, the idea would be to create a memory that can accommodate not a library, but two or three together. The internet connection should be, however, everywhere and always very fast.
